Dr. Gan Wei Chun is a dedicated Family Physician who believes in building long-term, trusting relationships with his patients and their families. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malaya in 2013 and completed his Family Medicine Residency with the National Healthcare Group (NHG). In 2019, he obtained his Master of Medicine in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore (NUS).

During his residency and medical officer years, Dr. Gan trained across a wide range of specialties, gaining valuable experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, geriatrics, psychiatry, and community care. His rotations included postings at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, National University Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Changi General Hospital, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, and Toa Payoh Polyclinic. This broad exposure allows him to manage patients of all ages and conditions comprehensively, from children to the elderly, in both acute and chronic settings.

Before establishing Caring Medical Clinic Woodlands, Dr. Gan served as an Associate Consultant Family Physician at NHG Toa Payoh Polyclinic. There, he cared for patients of all ages and backgrounds, with particular interests in acute, emergency care and chronic disease management (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol). He also contributed to the development of clinical guidelines in emergency care and managed patients at the ‘Health and Mind’ clinic for mental health needs.

Patients value Dr. Gan for his patient-centered approach, clear explanations, and his willingness to spend time understanding their concerns. He takes pride in providing holistic care — addressing not just medical conditions but also overall well-being and preventive health.

Outside of clinical work, Dr. Gan has contributed to medical education as a mentor to Family Medicine residents and a teacher at both the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. His efforts have been recognized with awards including the Excellence in Action Award (NHG Polyclinics Quality Day 2024) and the NUS Medicine Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2023/2024).

Shingles Vaccine(Shingrix)
